Silver. On the scalloped border is the John Fitzpatrick coat of arms; 2nd Earl of Upper Ossory with the motto 'FORTIS SUB FORTE FATISCET' engraved below the crowned Earls of England. One plate is in slightly different form with additions to the shield. Presumably after his wedding to Anne Fitzroy; the daughter of Henry Liddell; the 1st Baron of Ravensworth in 1769. Verso has engraved inventory number: N-6/17=13=2; N-38/17=16; N-50/18-0; N-47/18=1; 20=2. ?24cm. ca. 2670. Condition A/B. -C.
One plate has illegible markings with the London inspection mark as well as the year letter D presumably for 1719/20. One plate has the London inspection mark for 1739/40; maker's mark JS (John Hugh Le Sage; since 1739; Grimwade Nr.1680). Two plates have no markings.Art trade; Van Ham.
