STANDING BUDDHA. SANDSTONE.
Pre Khmer period. 7th/8th c. Angkor Borei style.
Yellowish brown sandstone with patina skin. The standing Buddha is clad in an antaravaska hip cloth and a sanghati mantle around the shoulders. His big hair locks cover his head and the ushnisha. The elongated ear lobes show his royal descent. Typical for this style are the full; fleshy lips.
Figures in Angkor Borei style in this quality and size are quite seldom. Height 65cm. Condition A/B. Supplement: Mounted on a base.
