Drepanis coccinea; Print; The 'I'iwi; or scarlet honeycreeper is a species of Hawaiian honeycreeper. The 'I'iwi is a highly recognizable symbol of Hawaii. The 'I'iwi is the third most common native land bird in the Hawaiian Islands. Large colonies of 'I'iwi inhabit the islands of Hawaii; Maui; and Kaua'i; with smaller populations on Moloka'i but are no longer present on Lana'i and O'ahu. ?I?iwi populations on Kaua?i are decreasing while there are stable populations on Maui and Hawaii.; 1825-1834
