Dandong; Liaoning Province; China is the crossing point over the Yalu River to Sinuiji; DPRK (North Korea). Both bridges were Japanese built and both regularly damaged during the early 1950's Korean War.Yalu River Broken Bridge; where this image was taken from; is a truncated railway swing bridge completed in 1911; connecting Korean peninsula into the Eurasian network. Bombing destroyed eight spans over the Korean side of the river - today it is a tourist attraction.The Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge (on this image) was built between April 1937 and May 1943.
