London, England - 2011; Here are two great landmarks by the Thames in London - old and new in contrast. St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, dating from the late 17th century, was designed in the English Baroque style by Sir Christopher Wren. Its great dome is a London and international landmark. Blackfriars Bridge Blackfriars Bridge is not one of London's most historic, scenic or even important; it's basically a road and foot traffic bridge over the River Thames in London, between Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars Railway Bridge, carrying the A201 road. The north end is near Blackfriars station, whilst the south end is near the Tate Modern art gallery and the Oxo Tower.
