Fossil Butte National Monument, Kemmerer, Wyoming, USA. This fossil of an extinct prairie dog-like mammal (Hyopsodus wortmani) is among fossils on display at the visitor center. Huge numbers of fossils of fish and other plant and animal life have been recovered from Fossil Lake, which covered the area 52 million years ago.
