Trichilemmal carcinoma. This is a rare malignant (cancerous) tumour of the hair follicle. It develops from the outer root sheath of the hair follicle on areas of skin that are exposed to sunlight. It is not an aggressive cancer and rarely spreads or recurs. Treatment is with excision of the tumour.
