Princess Elizabeth, Heir Presumptive to the throne of Britain, is to marry Lt. Philip Mountbatten, R.N., descendant of the male line of the royal house of Denmark. Lt. Philip, now a British subject, is the son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Princess Alice of Battenberg. He was educated in Britain and served throughout the war with the royal navy. The royal marriage recalls that of Queen Victoria with Prince Albert in 1840, now over 100 years later is celebrated the marriage of two of their great-grandchildren destined one day to share the same responsibilities.
