U.S. Building Up Okinawa - Hundreds of thousands of tons of equipment for civil and military use are still being poured by the United states into Okinawa, chief island of the Iyuku chain (picture show, stores areas), according to Frank Toira, special photographed, who returned recently from Japan and the Ryukus. Ships are unloading further supplies into the already tremendous dump that stretches for hundreds of acres across the island, he reports. Included among hundreds of civilian workers who have arrived on the island recently are 50 Australians, including several girls from Manila. December 10, 1946.
