Rocket Motor-Cycle To Be Ridden On London Speedway -- Professor Low examining the rocket unit on the motor-cycle at Wembley. An experimental rocket-assisted motor-cycle will be ridden by Bill Kitchen, captain of the Wembley Lions team, at a speedway meeting at Wembley Stadium, London, on Thursday. The machine is the result of experiments conducted by Professor A.M. Low, who has been doing research into rocket propulsion since 1917. The motor-cycle has four rockets in containers covered by aluminium cowling; they are controlled by switches on the handlebars. October 1, 1946.
