Frank Loesser, 38-years-old Hollywood composer, is being given a special bouquet in the hit-parade - world for his Slow Boat to China, recorded by Kay Kayser, with Danny Kaye making it dreamy and way up on top. Frank's lyrics scored in Moon of Manakoora and I Don't Want to Walk Without You, Baby, But he really hit the headlines during the war with such favorities as Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition, and Rodger Young. Busy as he already is, he's working on the songs for Betty Hutton's next picture, Red, Hot and Blue and yet another New York musical. May 24, 1949.
