Living Chess -- In armored costumes of the Middle Ages, the two "Rival Knights" face each other on the main platform, ready to play an actual chess game, every move of which will be enacted on the giant chessboard. Costumed damsels and Noblemen look on as the game begins. Hidden behind the player at left sits the lovely "Leonora," the Governor's daughter and "Stake" of the game. The other girl, at right, wearing Tiara, represents her sister. According to the happy-ending Medieval Legend, she was awarded as a consolation prize to the losing knight. September 23, 1955.
