Olympic Flame on Last Lap To Wembley - In the early hours of this morning Bicknell, one of the bearers of the Flame arrives at Redhill, Surrey, carrying the Olympic Torch. Cheering crowds late last night early this morning saw runners carry the Olympic Flame through Southern England towns and along country roads on the last lap of its 2000-mile journey from Mount Olympus to Wembley. July 29, 1948.
