Sudeten-Germans Take Over Their Territory. Excited Crowds Greet Them -- Jubilant girls in national costume run beside the girls as they pass through a village on their way to Eger. Girls ran in front of the guards and threw flowers in their path. pictures, just received in London from a staff photographer, were made as the Sudeten-Germans took over the territory on the Sudeten frontiers of Czechoslovakia, already virtually ceded to Germany. Excited crowds watched and cheered jubilantly as the guards marched into the various towns and took over duty from the Czechs. September 22, 1938.
