In The Front Line Of ***** -- A duster-sprayer at work today in a potato field on a farm near Rochester, Kent. Beetles have recently been found in the Kent area. There are 4 of these sprayers at work in this area, and they are using 20 tons DDT per week. Many thousands of acres of potatoes ***** land on the South and East coast of ***** the scene of another "Invasion" battle ***** were in the wartime days. This time however, ***** is the colorado beetle, which is the worst threat to Britain's potato crops in ten years. Spraying and searching for the past is being intensified in areas where the beetle has been found recently, and a small army of farmers, officials, watchers and searchers are engaged in an all-out effort to beat the Continental threat to the crops.
