To the general public they are Lieutenant General Robert Eichelberger, now retired from the US Army, and Mrs. Eichelberger. To Bill Carty. photographer who took these pictures of them together and with NSW Governor Sir John Northcott (at right) they are Uncle Bob and Miss Em. Carty has taken hundreds of photographs of the general and his lady - from the time they arrived in the Pacific until they left Japan. May 9, 1952.
