An immense crowd of racegoers at Epsom to-day (Saturday) saw the Delby Stakes, Blue Riband of the English Turf, fall to the French horse Pearl Diver, owned by Baron G. de Weldner and ridden Migoli, ridden by D. Smith, was second with the Gaekwar of Baroda's Sayajirao, famous brother of Dante, third. Muchvannted odds-on favourite Tudor Minstrel ridden by never-a-Derby-yet champion jockey ***** challenged hard at the finist after a good race, but was unplaced. June 07, 1947.
