The Oilfields of Britain -- An engineer examines for traces of oil, the muddy water as it flows from the drill. War-time results obtained from the new eakring Oilfield situated near Newark demonstrate the great asset which home-produced oil could be to peace-time industry. Twenty six million gallons of oil a year were pumped from Britain's indigenous wells to assist in combatting the Nazi U-Boat menace. Once the well is drilled, all unsightly plant and derricks are removed. The pump, which conveys the oil to a central collecting point, is a very unobtrusive affair occupying about the same space as a domestic garage, thus refuting the claim that the plant would mar the view of some of Britain's most beautiful Landscapes.
