5052410 No. 4 Bond Lane, Douglas, Isle of Man, 1932-34 (b/w photo) by Frowde, John James (1868-1946); Manx National Heritage (Isle of Man); (add.info.: On the back of this photograph John James Frowde writes, "The demolition of the two cottages between the King Orry Inn and Bond Lane made it possible, for the first time , to get a picture of no 4 Bond Lane, here seen. The squat roof is an unusual feature, as also the ground-floor windows on either side of the door. It only occurred to me in recent years, although I have been familiar with the appearance of it for over 50, that those windows were certainly those of an inn at some period or other. Meeting Mr Barwell (SPCo Manager) about the time when this photo was taken, I mentioned the matter, and he said that he knew it to have beeen an inn and one of some note at one time, but had no name or details to furnish regarding it. The Country Stage Coaches had their stance at the bottom of the lane on the Quay." Additional notes: "Similar roof on the late Ned Kelly\'s boot repair shop opposite Caley the baker of Lower Church St and Barrack St. See views outside the demolition area."); by Manx National Heritage .
