Square during Venice Carnival, a lady has removed her veil and bauta (characteristic Venetian type of white mask) under her tricorn hat revealing her face to a gentleman who is approaching her. Behind them a fitta palchi (vendor of theater boxes) is presenting them with keys. The implication is that the two lovers will meet for an amorous encounter in a box.
