The upper wooden board is carved with geometrical chip-carved decoration and inscribed with the motto \'DO YOU YOUR PART AS WELL AS I AND YOUL HAVE FIER BY AND BY\'. The lower wooden board is probably made of ash, and the upper board is probably alder wood. At the back there are twin rectangular air holes, divided by a lozenge. The leather is stretched over two cane hoops which have loose nails on the bottom board to allow them to go up and down.
