The actual titration will involve running an acid solution, of known concentration, from the graduated burette (above flask) into this known volume. Use of a chemical marker allows the volume of acid used in neutralising the alkali to be noted. This experimental data is used to calculate the concentration of the alkaline solution. This value can then be used in further calculations.
