Illustration of German artist and goldsmith Wenzel Jamnitzer (1508-1585) using instruments to study perspective. Jamnitzer is best known for being the court goldsmith to many Holy Roman Emperors. He also invented scientific instruments. Jamnitzer published a book called Perspectiva Corporum Regularium, which included his one hundred and twenty variations on the five platonic solids. Print by Swiss-German artist Jost Amman (1539-1591).
