Pterosaur flying reptiles, illustration. Pterosaurs were carnivorous predators, feeding on fish and other small animals. They flew with wings formed from a membranous structure stretched between the ankles and a lengthened finger. These pterosaurs are Anhanguera (bottom right), Cearadactylus (lower left) and Tropeognathus (upper right). All lived in what is now South America during the Cretaceous Period (100-66 million years ago).
