This is the opening page of issue number 20, dated 17th December 1666. The opening lines list the contents of the issue, followed by the start of the first entry. The first entry is titled: 'The method observed in Transfusing the Bloud out of one Animal into another.' Here, Doctor Richard Lower communicates the transfusion of blood from the artery of one dog to the vein of another to Honourable Robert Boyle. Lower's experiment is one of the earliest known blood transfusions.
