IgM suggests that the patient has a recent (typically within 7-14 days) response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the causative agent of Covid-19. IgG shows a longer-lasting immune response. This could be seen in a patient around 14-21 days from infection, or a recently-infected patient who has also received a vaccine. This lateral flow test produces a result in ten minutes.
