Illustration of Kumimanu extinct penguins. These birds lived 60 to 50 million years ago during the Paleocene period in New Zealand. The genus only includes one species called Kumimanu bicae. This species is believed to measure up to 1.65 metres in length and weighed up to 100 kilograms.
