Angela Davis (born 1944), American activist and academic. Davis is a far-left activist who was a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSEA) and ran twice as the CPUSA candidate for Vice President. In 1991 she broke with CPUSA and became a founding member of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS). Photographed in 1974.
