Twenty-four Japanese examples of filial piety for the Honors (series title), Two boys in front of a screen showing a surf and the moon, between them in a gold piece. The boys have recently lost their fathers, one is poor and the other rich. The poor boy saw his father in a dream who told him to pay off the rich man's son. Here he tries to do that by offering a gold piece. The rich boy refuses the gold piece and asks him to make a sacrifice to both their fathers instead of payment. With two poems, one poem is about the dream: Waking up to the first prosperous dream is like a hundred pieces of gold when the ear also hears the song of the mockingbird, screen, folding screen, Yashima Gakutei (mentioned on object), Japan, 1820 - 1825, paper, colour woodcut, h 202 mm ⊙ w 182 mm.
