Oligodendroglioma, light micrograph. Oligodendrogliomas are the second major category of diffuse gliomas of the brain. They are more common in young to middle-aged adults and are rare in children. Microscopically, the tumour cells have uniform round nuclei surrounded by perinuclear haloes creating a fried egg appearance as seen in this image.
