Light micrograph section of an ovarian teratoma, also called a dermoid cyst of the ovary. This is a bizarre tumour, usually benign in the ovary and typically contains a diversity of tissues. Sometimes large dermoid cysts cause twisting of the ovary (ovarian torsion) which can result in abdominal or pelvic pain.
