Catheter cardiac ablation. Coloured 3D computed tomography (CT) scan of a catheter used for cardiac ablation to treat atrial fibrillation passing through the atrial septum of the heart. The catheter is inserted remotely via a peripheral vein to reach the orifices of the pulmonary vein. The treatment will create scars that disperse abnormal electrical signals in the heart that causes arrhythmias.
