Al Gore (born 1948), former US Vice President, giving a speech at the Chinese Pavilion at the 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference, known as COP25. This event was the 25th United Nations Climate Change conference. These conferences are held to assess progress in dealing with climate change and establish legal obligations for developed countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. COP25 was held in Madrid, Spain, 2-13 December 2019. Gore was Vice President of the USA from 1993 to 2001. He is a prominent environmental activist, and was a joint recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his work to raise awareness of climate change.
