Iridescent wrapping paper, light micrograph. Gift wrap with multi-colored reflections that vary with lighting and viewing angles are falsely termed holographic. This image shows a section of about 2mm x 3mm of such paper. There are very fine scratches which transform the surface into diffraction gratings. They generate interference and different colours appear according to the orientation of the scratches. These structural colours will be distinct on the circles and the rings.
