The new headquarter of the world wine imperium Antinori was an investment of 100 Million Euro. The owners; Marquese Piero Antinori and Marquese Ludovico Antinori built not only a new production place for the outstanding wines and Supertuscans like Tignanello or Solaia. The new headquarter is also a museum which presents the history of the family; now in 26th generation involved in wine making. As well; iti is home of the Antinori Art Project; led by Chiara Parisi. Here; works of artists like Yona Friedman; Rosa Barba; Jean-Baptiste Decav鑜e; or Ilaria Bonacossa are shown. Present is also Tom醩 Saraceno with his work "Biosphere 06; Cluster of 3". Aside the wine shop; There is also the restaurant "Rinuccio1180"; which recalls the family history. All began with Rinuccio Antinori; in 1180. In Mugello area; he started in Castello di Combiate with experiments on wine making. But the castle was destroyed; in 1202; and the family moved to Florence. Official history of Antinori wines started in 1385 and Giovanni di Pietro Antinori; who had become rich via silk trade; banking and finance business. New leaders of Antinori are the three Antinori daughters Albiera; Allegra and Alessia. Annually; more than 40;000 people visit the Antinori headquarter outside the small village of Bargino in the Chianti Classico area; also ironically called Chiantishire.
