Ireland; Dublin; Cathedrals Quarter: Bowes Memorial in crypt of Christchurch Cathedral: Christchurch Cathedral was built in 1172 by "Strongbow" Richard de Clare; second Earl of Pembroke (1130 - 1176). His burial is in the long ship. The cathedral was totally restored 1871 - 1878. It has numerous art works; especialyl in the crypt. A special sensation is "the cat and the rat"; also called "Tom & Jerry". It shows the mumified bodies of a cat and a rat which were found in an organ pipe; in late 1850s.
