Estonia; Haapsalu (German: Hapsal); Railway Station (Railway and Communications Museum): view on longest European roofed plattform; in 1907. Since 1825; Haapsalu had become a favorite sea resort for Sankt (Saint) Petersburg based aristocracy and artists. The tzaristic Romanov family used to spent here holidays. in 1907; tzar Niclas (Nikolaus) II ordered to built the Haapsalu Railway Station in romantic style; totally made from wood. Architect was a certain Verheim from Saint Petersburg. Since 1995; railway traffic to and from Haapsalu has been stopped; in 2004 all was demolished. Now; the railway station has become a railway museum. There are historic trains and locomotives; such like steam locomotive "L 1646" from 1951. It is an industrial monument. In 1907; the railway station had the longest roofed plattform of any railway station in Europe; reaching 214 m of length.
