Episode of the Anglo-Egyptian War: Egyptian general Ahmad 'Urabi (or Ourabi) participated in a mutiny that developed into a general revolt against the Anglo-French dominated administration of Egypt. British warships in Alexandria Harbour opened fire on the city's gun emplacements after the Egyptians ignored an ultimatum to remove them.
