'The St. Christopher of 1423'. The saint carries the Christ-child across a river, using a staff sprouting palm-fronds. The St Christopher Woodcut is the only surviving example of the first piece of European printing bearing a date. Print after a hand-coloured woodcut in the collection of the John Rylands Library, Manchester.
