'Cunard Line - Ivernia, off New Brighton', c1910. The British ocean liner 'SS Ivernia', launched in 1899, was owned by the Cunard Line and built by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson of Newcastle upon Tyne. She was used as a troop transport during the First World War, and was torpedoed by a German submarine in 1917, with the loss of 36 crew members and 84 troops. Postcard.
