Prussian field marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Bl?cher (1742-1819) was trapped for several hours beneath his horse after it was shot and killed. The Battle of Ligny, near Ligny (in Belgium), between the French and the Prussians, was fought two days before Waterloo. Ligny was the last victory of Napoleon Bonaparte.
