The name means high or beautiful choir. The town consists mainly of one long street about a mile in length, and is situated near the Menai Straits, of which we get a glimpse. The eastern corner of Anglesey is also seen, and Puffin Island rather faintly to the right. Bangor has a very pleasant situation, and is surrounded on all sides by beautiful scenery. The lodging accommodation is very good, and the place itself is a popular and favour????ite resort of tourists. The principle building of interest is, of course, the Cathedral, which lays low among the trees near the centre of the town.
