Priest's House, Small Hythe Road, Small Hythe, near Tenterden, Kent, 1955. The exterior of the Priest's House viewed from Smallhythe Road. Built in the 15th or 16th century, and possibly rebuilt following a fire in the early 16th century, the Priest's House is shown as a vicarage in 19th century maps. From 1899 the house was lived in by Edith (Edy) Craig, daughter of the Victorian actress, Ellen Terry. Craig, who was actively involved in the suffrage movement, was also a successful theatre producer, director and costumier.
