OLD WARDOUR CASTLE, Wiltshire. General view from the north. Built in the late 14th century by John Lord Lovel, updated by the Arundell family after c.1570, the castle saw much fighting during the Civil War and the 'romantic ruin' was later incorporated into the 18th century garden landscape of New Wardour House. Part of the film Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, was filmed here.
