On one occasion, he states in his journal that he administerered the Lord's Supper to over 600 communicants. The then Vicar of Bexley (Dr Piers) was one of the first clergymen of the Church of England who took part in th first Wesleyan Conference. Wesley's sister Keziah lived two years in Bexley Vicarage'
