The Fires of Fate by Arthur Conan Doyle, adapted from ?The Tragedy of the Korosko?, serialised in the ?Strand Magazine? between May and September 1897. It was later adapted into a play first shown at the Lyric Theatre in London on 15th June 1909. In Egypt, at the Abousir Rock, Arab followers of the Mahdi threaten one of the tourist party, probably Colonel Egerton, as Sadie Adams kneels pleadingly (Act III). This image is a promotional postcard of the play as it was touring to Theatre Royal in Margate, starting on 15th September 1910.
