The Dramatic Trial of Major Armstrong. The unfolding of the story at Hereford. Great interest has been aroussed by the trial of Major Herbert Rowse Armstrong, the Hay solicitor, which opened in Hereford before Mr Justice Darling and a jury. The prisoner is charged with having, on 22nd February 1921, murdered his wife by poisoning her with arsenic, and secondly, with having on 26th October 1921, administered arsenic to Oswald Norman Martin, also a solicitor practising at Hay, with intent to murder him. He was found guilty and hanged on 31st May 1922, maintaining his innocence to the last.
