King George III inspects a huge pig, sent from Ireland. After the Irish Rebellion of 1798 was put down, the ex-rebels sent the Enniscorthy boar, a huge, well-formed pig, as a peace offering to the King. It was placed in the menagerie at the Tower of London until someone joked that the boar had become fat upon eating Protestant clergymen. The King removed it immediately
