The Mohammedan pilgrimage with the holy carpet being transported across the Red Sea en route to the sacred Kaaba shrine in Mecca. The carpet is said to be the actual one on which the Prophet Mohammed prayed and is 1,300 years old. It is taken on the journey each year, carried in a heavy ornamented housing on the back of a camel.
