After a boy broke her window, Miss Marian Fletcher of Linthwaite, near Huddersfield in Yorkshire, set up a private police force of children aged 7-12 to encourage better behaviour. Before long every child in the village wanted to join. Seen here Miss Fletcher with a large group of children, all of them in some form of police uniform with helmet.
